Arsenic and Old Lace

Kirk Players presents Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring. This absurdly gruesome, yet gloriously funny comedy tells the story of the Brewster sisters, who are famous for their kindness, even though some of that kindness includes poisoning lonely, old men to help them find their peace. They have three nephews: Mortimer, a drama critic who is engaged to marry Elaine, the minister’s daughter next door; Teddy, who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt; and Jonathan, a wanted criminal who comes home to hide from the police, with his evil sidekick, Dr. Einstein. When Mortimer finds out what is hidden in the window seat and why Teddy has to go digging in the basement, this frantic farce takes off! Many others in this large cast help to show that the only thing more deadly than poison is family! The show will be directed by KP veteran Jon Leslie Lynn and will run two weekends, June 14-16 and June 21-23, all at Mundelein High School. Tickets are on sale now at www.kirkplayers.org.
